DETROIT (AP) — The Los Angeles Angels have recalled right-hander Garrett Richards from Triple-A Salt Lake to start Tuesday night at Detroit.

The Angels optioned third baseman Andrew Romine to Salt Lake.

Richards is 2-1 with a 4.21 ERA this season. His last start, July 5 against Baltimore, didn’t go very well. He allowed seven runs and 10 hits in 4 1-3 innings.

Romine has appeared in four games this season for the Angels, going 4 for 6 at the plate.
