SAN BERNARDINO (CBS) — A brush fire burning in San Bernardino was only 10 percent contained on Monday afternoon, prompting dozens of residents to evacuate their homes.
The blaze was first reported shortly after 1:54 p.m. above State Highway 18 in Waterman Canyon, according to San Bernardino County Fire officials.
Residents of a nearby private community voluntarily evacuated as many as 30 homes, officials said.
Highway 18 was closed to traffic after up to 75 acres were burned.
No structures have burned, but three firefighters have suffered heat-related injuries.
