Lamar Odom Officially Traded To LA Clippers
(CBS/Clippers) -- Lamar Odom is coming back to the Los Angeles Clippers after four teams agreed to a trade that moves Mo Williams to the Utah Jazz and gives the Dallas Mavericks an $8.2 million trade exception.
The Clippers also sent the draft rights to Furkan Aldemir, the Clippers' second round selection (53rd overall) in the 2012 NBA Draft to Houston while the Jazz conveyed the draft rights of Tadija Dragicevic, Utah's second round pick (53rd overall) in the 2008 NBA Draft to Dallas.
To complete the trade, Dallas sent the draft rights of Shan Foster, the Mavericks' second round selection (51st overall) in the 2008 NBA Draft to the Jazz with Houston sending cash considerations to Dallas.
Los Angeles will hold a press conference on Monday.
Odom was originally selected fourth in the 1999 NBA draft by the Clippers and played with LA until 2003 when he left as a restricted free agent for the Miami Heat.
After playing in Miami until 2004, Odom was traded to the Lakers in a deal that brought Shaquille O'Neal to the Heat.
Odom looked like he found a home with the Lakers, playing with the Purple and Gold from 2004-2011, but after finding out the Lakers dealt him in the infamous nixed Chris Paul trade; Odom demanded a trade from the Lakers.
He was dealt to Dallas, where he played in just 50-games, which ended shortly after a halftime exchange with owner Mark Cuban.
"Look, it's been a frustrating situation. Lamar hasn't performed like he wants to perform, is capable of performing. Mavericks general manager Donnie Nelson said at the time … We just need to move on."
