LOS ANGELES (AP) — Los Angeles police say at least two people were injured when a man went on a rampage with a fire extinguisher at a Canoga Park adult day care center.
Officer Karen Rayner says officers were called to the center Wednesday to respond to reports of gunfire, but it turned out the loud noises inside were being made by a man who had come in from the street and was smashing things with a fire extinguisher.
Rayner says one person was sprayed in the face with the extinguisher, and the other was hit on the head with it. Neither had life-threatening injuries.
Rayner says the suspect is in intensive care, apparently for drug abuse-related medical issues, and has not been booked yet.
She says the motive is unknown.
