LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Four men face charges Wednesday of operating a chop shop out of a Los Angeles home.
Rashad Criss, 30, and Joshua Gonzales, 29, both of Los Angeles and Bryan Agustin, 27, of Norwalk and 22-year-old Richard Lopez of Stanton were arrested on June 20 during a probation compliance search at Criss’ home in the 300 block of West 51st Street.
Sheriff’s Lt. Dominic Valencia says several men were seen in the backyard, dismantling a 2001 Acura Integra. When detectives arrived, two of the men fled into the home and were later found hiding inside.
The Acura had been stolen from Cal State Long Beach earlier that day, so recently that the car’s owner didn’t realize it had been stolen until he was contacted by law enforcement, Valencia said.
The components belonging to a 2006 Acura RSX stolen from Cal State Fullerton the day before were also found.
