CYPRESS (CBS) — The wife of an Oceanside police chief who was convicted for firing a gun from her Cypress home was hospitalized on Monday.
KNX 1070′s Mike Landa reports Brinda McCoy was found guilty last week on six counts of felony assault with a semi-automatic firearm.
McCoy, 49, was found bleeding at her home when Orange County Fire Authority paramedics responded to a call in the 4500 block of Tuscani Drive at 10:53 a.m. on Tuesday, according to authorities.
She was transferred to Los Alamitos Medical Center. Her condition is unknown.
Prosecutor Rebecca Olivieri before McCoy’s conviction last Monday argued against releasing McCoy on bail due to the high probability she would pose a threat to herself, her family and others.
Orange County Superior Court Judge Francisco Briseno has since issued an order to revoke McCoy’s bail.
McCoy, whose husband Frank is a former Cypress city councilman, has also been ordered to wear an electronic surveillance bracelet and undergo mental health evaluations as part of her sentence.
