Giants Slam Eovaldi, Dodgers

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS) – The San Francisco Giants jumped all over Nathan Eovaldi and the Los Angeles Dodgers on Monday night, routing their rival, 8-0.

Eovaldi faced some tough luck to start the first inning, after an infield hit and bloop single, Angel Pagan hit a grounder off first base that turned into a RBI double, giving the Giants a 1-0 lead.

From there the Giants began to knock Eovaldi around, Pedro Sandoval doubled in two runs, and the Giants would tag Eovaldi for seven runs in the first two innings.

Meanwhile, Barry Zito was in complete control, going seven scoreless innings, and allowing three hits.

Zito picked up his first win over the Dodgers since May 8, 2009.

With the win, the Giants are now two games behind the Dodgers in the standings.

Clayton Kershaw will face Ryan Vogelsong on KCAL 9 Tuesday night at 7:15.
