STUDIO CITY (CBS)— Everyone always told Mark Shriver that his father, Robert Sargent Shriver, was the epitome of a good man. Once his father passed away, he then grasped all that he had accomplished both in, and out of, the public eye. Mark had done some digging when he first started compiling notes for his father’s eulogy and realized there was so much rich material that cast a new light on his father’s life and achievements. Mark is now releasing a memoir of his father, ‘Sarge’; a loving son’s portrait of a devoted dad, an inspiration to millions, and by all accounts, a good man.
Mark Shriver stopped by KCAL9 to discuss the memoir. In the book, ‘A Good Man: Rediscovering My Father, Sargent Shriver’, Mark reveals everything from what it was like for him to grow up in a legendary family to why his father devoted himself to family, faith and public service.
Mark admits that the book is his own letter to his father that not only recalls their journey together, but thanks him for all he learned as the son of a truly good man. For more information on the Mark Shriver and the book, click here.
