1 Dead, 2 Wounded In Westchester Shooting

WESTCHESTER (CNS) —  One man was killed and two others were wounded in a shooting in Westchester Thursday.

One of the other victims was hospitalized in critical condition, the other in serious condition, said Matt Spence of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The shooting occurred around 6 p.m. in the 5700 block of Centinela Avenue, near Jefferson Boulevard, said Officer Karen Rayner of the Los Angeles Police Department.

Resident Clint Carlton told reporter Juan Fernandez that neighbors were not allowed to enter their apartments. "People pay a pretty good chunk to live in this building. It's a great building. You don't want to have this happen in your neighborhood."

He told Fernandez that while he could handle the violence in the area, his wife would likely want them to "get out of our lease" at the Alessio Apartments.

The shooter is still at-large.
