Lake Elsinore Teacher, 35, Sentenced For Having Sex With Teenage Student

RIVERSIDE (CBS) — A substitute teacher who had sex with a teenage girl was sentenced to six months in jail and three years probation Tuesday in a Riverside County courtroom.

Faysal Jihad Hill, 35, was arrested in November after a sheriff's investigation determined he had an ongoing sexual relationship with a teenage girl at Temescal Canyon High School.

The substitute teacher, who had been working exclusively at the high school since 2009, pleaded guilty in April to statutory rape.

Lake Elsinore Unified School District spokesman Mark Dennis said Hill was placed on leave immediately after district officials heard about the arrest.

Hill's probation forbids him from ever working with children again.
