2 Men Accused Of Burglarizing Vacant Homes Throughout Palmdale

PALMDALE (CBS) — Sheriff's deputies have busted two men they say are behind a string of vacant home burglaries throughout Palmdale.

Victor Ramirez-Albor, 36, and Julio Camacho-Monteil, 35, were arrested Tuesday on suspicion of residential burglary after a neighbor saw them removing a stove from a vacant home, according to sheriff's officials.

By the time, Ramirez-Albor and Camacho-Monteil were stopped by deputies, officials say they had already dropped off the two stoves at a vacant home. Ramirez-Albor and Camacho-Monteil were also allegedly in possession of several keys that appeared to open real estate lock boxes and a handwritten list of vacant homes in Palmdale, Long Beach, Compton, Simi Valley, Ojai, Oxnard, Ventura and Carson.

Officials say some of the homes on their list have already been burglarized.

Detectives say the pair is responsible for at least 11 burglaries since January in Palmdale alone.

Both suspects were booked on burglary charges and are being held on $50,000 bail.
