LOS ANGELES (CBS) —  A motorist drove into a wash on the Pasadena (110) Freeway in the Montecito Heights area, a city fire official said.

The crash was reported at 9:06 p.m. on the northbound 110 at Avenue 43, Matt Spence of the Los Angeles Fire Department said.

The sole occupant of the vehicle got out on his own and was hospitalized for evaluation, Spence said.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
