WEST HOLLYWOOD (CBS) —  A decomposing body was found inside a SUV in West Hollywood Saturday but the coroner hasn’t announced whether it was a human or animal.

Coroner’s Investigator Joyce Kato said the report on the investigation was not complete.

Police responded to the area of Willoughby and Genesee avenues at 10:05 a.m. regarding reports of a foul odor inside a vehicle, Officer Wendy Reyes of the Los Angeles Police Department said.

“We don’t know if it is human or an animal,” Reyes said. “The coroner came down and the vehicle was taken to the coroner’s office.”

No further details were available.
