LOS ANGELES (CBS) — A convicted felon reportedly walked away from a SoCal courtroom after cutting off his GPS ankle tracker and police are asking for the public’s help finding him.

Perry Pemberton was at a preliminary hearing for several robbery charges when he cut off a GPS tracking device from his ankle and drove away in a Maserati, according to the LAPD. He was on $500,000 bail when he took off from the courtroom May 25, police said.

The convicted felon, who has burglarized homes throughout L.A., San Bernardino and Santa Barbara counties, is also a registered sex offender, police reported. Pemberton was arrested Oct. 25 and charged with six burglaries, which had been committed in Sherman Oaks, Woodland Hills, Valencia, Burbank and Bel Air.

Pemberton also goes by the name “KP Money” and reportedly hangs out at rap music studios. Police said he is a member of the Grape Street Crips.

The felon was seen driving a blue 2006 Maserati with a license plate that read 6PIX577, the LAPD reported.
