Josh Rubenstein’s Weather Forecast (June 1)

STUDIO CITY (CBS) — The ridge that kept us warm Thursday is starting to flatten. We can expect slightly cooler temperatures Friday with a little more marine layer.

Some coastal cities will be stuck in the clouds for most of the day. The on-shore flow will continue into the weekend as a broad trough edges to the west.

Desert temperatures will still stay pretty warm near 100 degrees. Even with the slight cool down in the basin, we will still be above average for this time of year.

That being said, it should be a decent weekend with hazy sunshine for most of the day on Saturday and Sunday.

A more pronounced marine layer is expected on Monday and Tuesday as the trough is directly over the West Coast.

Temperatures should actually dip down into the low 70s to start the next work week.  Next week, a ridge builds back in and we can expect some warmer temperatures.

Beaches – upper 60s to low 70s
Basin – upper 70s
Valleys – low 90s
Deserts – near 100
Mountains – low 80s
