BOYLE HEIGHTS (CBS) — An armed man was shot and killed by police early Friday morning.
KNX 1070′s Pete Demetriou reports the incident may have started as a domestic dispute.
Officers from the LAPD Hollenbeck Division responding to reports of gunfire arrived at the 2500 block of Houston Street east of Soto just before 6 a.m., according to Commander Andy Smith.
“They were directed to the back, they went back there and encountered the suspect,” said Smith, who said police were unsure whether he had been moving from house to house.
After officers confronted the man, who was then fatally shot by police.
No other injuries were reported, but a neighbor said the man may have wounded himself before officers shot at him.
The shooting is currently under investigation.
