ESCONDIDO (AP) — A Southern California man has been arrested on suspicion of having sex with a 12-year-old girl he met through an online social network.

Escondido police said Monday that investigators found 24-year-old Christopher Bradley Nutt with the girl in the bedroom of a house.

The girl’s mother reported her missing since Saturday evening. Investigators checked her cell phone and questioned her friends before going to the house where they found her and Nutt.

She was returned to her parents. Nutt was booked on suspicion of sex with a minor, possession of child pornography, and other counts.
