Teen Girl, 2 Friends Arrested For Allegedly Trying To Kill Her Mother -- 3 Times

HESPERIA (CBS) — A 13-year-old girl and her two friends were arrested after they allegedly plotted to kill the girl's mother Tuesday. Investigators say the girl may have resented her mother for being too strict.

Neighbor Kaylee Alvarez said she could hear fighting from the woman's mobile home the night it happened. Alvarez said the woman came outside and claimed she was attacked by her adopted daughter, who enlisted the help of her 14-year-old boyfriend and a 14-year-old girl.

The woman had told Alvarez that she was worried for her life before the attack took place.

"The other day before...she said there were knives missing. So, she said she was scared and they wanted to kill her," Alvarez said.

Police said the scuffle took place as the girl ran away from home just before 1 a.m. Tuesday. The girl's family tracked her down Tuesday afternoon.

The girl reportedly told investigators about the murder plot, according to Sgt. Doug Hubbard, of the Hesperia police.

"To my knowledge no specific weapon has been recovered," Hubbard said.

Police aren't saying how the girl planned to carry out the murder plot but that she had attempted to kill her mother three times.

Officers arrested the two friends who allegedly helped the daughter with the attacks.
