BURBANK (CBS) — One of two suspects in an armed robbery outside a Carl’s Jr. restaurant in Burbank remained at large Friday, police reported.
The robbery occurred outside the eatery in the 1300 block of North San Fernando Boulevard about 3:30 p.m. Thursday, said Burbank police Officer Joshua Kendrick.
The victims told police that they were eating inside their car when they were approached by two men, one of whom went to the driver’s side door, produced a handgun and asked the driver if he wanted to die, Kendrick said.
The victims then handed over their personal property, including their wallets and cell phones.
According to Kendrick, the suspects then ran to a nearby car and fled.
A short time later, the California Highway Patrol spotted the getaway car, which turned out to be stolen and authorities apprehended one suspect.
