COSTA MESA (CBS) — A 44-year-old man and a dog were found dead inside a car in Orange County Wednesday and authorities are investigating the circumstances.

Orange County sheriff’s authorities were notified that a man lay dead in the 2600 block of Riverside Drive, in an unincorporated area near Costa Mesa.

The body has reportedly been there for three days and the death appears to be health-related. Firefighters decided to not open the car until a hazardous materials team arrived.
