EL SEGUNDO (CBS) — A 40-year-old convicted sex offender is now facing new charges after sexually assaulting a teenage girl he met online.

Andrew Kwasi Donkor was arrested this week in a sting operation in El Segundo.

On May 8, Donkor, a parolee and previously convicted sex offender, and his alleged 15-year-old victim agreed to meet in person, officials said.

“After meeting the victim in front of her residence, Donkor drove her to an undisclosed location in El Segundo and sexually assaulted her,” Lt. Raymond Garcia.

Donkor later drove the victim home where she then contacted police, authorities said.

“With the victim’s assistance, Donkor was contacted and coaxed into returning to El Segundo,” Garcia said.

Donkor was then arrested by police during a traffic stop in the 900 block on Main Street, said Garcia.
