COSTA MESA (CBS) — A young girl allegedly walked into a hair salon and swiped more than $1,300 from a woman’s purse in South Orange County.

The suspect, dressed in grey, was glancing around La Beaute hair salon and beauty supply in Costa Mesa when she asked to use the restroom.

Surveillance video captured the girl at approximately 7 p.m. noticing a purse on the back counter and reaching in to take the cash inside.

The owner of the purse grew suspicious and went back to get her purse. In the video, she can be seen checking her purse to make sure everything is there.

At that point, the girl comes out of the restroom and makes a speedy escape through the back door.

The store owners believe the suspect has been to their business before because she walked out briskly, as if she already knew where the back door was located.

No further details were given about the suspect.
