OC Man Charged With 2nd 'Spiritual Cleansing' Rape

SANTA ANA (CBS/AP) — An Orange County man accused of raping a woman he lured to a motel for a spiritual cleansing ritual has been charged with assaulting a second woman in the same manner.

Alberto Ramirez of San Clemente was charged Friday.

Prosecutors claim he convinced a 49-year-old woman he met on Facebook to travel from Las Vegas to meet him in February.

Authorities claim he took her to the Aloha Motel in 2400 block of South Main Street in Santa Ana, made her dizzy by pouring ammonia on her head and raped her while her friend waited outside.

Ramirez also tried to make her perform oral sex on him, but she was too disoriented, so he performed oral sex on her, prosecutors said, but she did not report the sexual assault until she saw media reports about another woman who accused Ramirez of raping her.

Ramirez already was facing charges of raping a 33-year-old woman after rubbing raw eggs on her and fondling her at the same motel last month. They claim he offered to perform a spiritual cleansing after meeting her on a website.

Ramirez is due in court Friday afternoon. He faces 75 years to life in prison if convicted.
