CARSON (CBS) —  A man was fatally shot Wednesday evening by someone firing from outside his Carson home.

The shooting occurred in the 19300 block of Broad Acre Avenue about 9:15 p.m., according to the county fire department.

Sgt. Doug Murakami of the sheriff’s Carson Station said the man was treated and didn’t know if he was still alive.

Police later confirmed the man was fatally shot.

A man reportedly called police and said his father had been shot in the back of the head by a bullet that entered the rear of his home.
