LA County Sheriff's Deputy Admits To Smuggling Drugs Inside Burrito Into Courthouse Lockup

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — A Los Angeles sheriff's deputy pleaded no contest Monday to smuggling heroin inside a burrito into a courthouse lockup.

Henry Marin, 27, pleaded no contest to one count each of bringing drugs into a jail and conspiracy to commit a crime, according to Deputy District Attorney Amy Pellman Pentz.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Anne Egerton is expect to hear arguments from both sides on June 25 before deciding what sentence to impose.

Marine was assigned at the time to the Court Services Division at the Airport Branch Courthouse in Los Angeles.

Marin was named in a grand jury indictment in January that accused him of conspiring to transport narcotics into county jail on Feb. 23, 2010. He has been relieved of duty.
