MALIBU (CBS) — Detectives are investigating the death of a 25-year-old woman whose body was found in a house in the hills above Malibu.
A relative found the woman, whose name has not been released, inside the garage of a home on Moon Shadows Drive, a small cul de sac in a subdivision near Saddle Peak. It was reported to deputies at 6:34 p.m. Saturday.
Sheriff’s deputies had no further information as to how the woman died. The cause of death will be determined by the L.A. County Coroner’s office.
The finding comes about six weeks after Malibu was roiled by the reported shooting of a restaurant worker as he took out the trash at a Malibu Civic Center eatery. The day after the supposed shooting, sheriff’s deputies said the man had actually been severely beaten, but not shot. And it later was learned that the victim, Carols Ivan Roda, had died from some sort of respiratory failure that resulted in a severe loss of blood.
