Man Killed By Train While Pushing Bicycle On Tracks

INDUSTRY (CBS) — A man was fatally struck by a freight train in Industry Saturday.

The man was pushing a bicycle east on the tracks over a trestle spanning the San Gabriel River when he was hit at about 4:50 p.m. Saturday, a sheriff’s deputy said.

The conductor of the Union Pacific train saw the man and sounded the horn, but the victim apparently could not get out of the way in time.

Coroner’s investigators are working to identify the man. Deputies said the man was in his 40s.
