Father Of Girl Found Dead In Upscale Malibu Home Speaks Out

MALIBU (CBS) — Investigators are remaining tight-lipped about an investigation involving a young woman found dead inside the garage of her upscale Malibu home Saturday.

The victim, 25-year-old Katie Wilkins, was a graphic designer. Her brother reportedly found her body.

Rob Wilkins, the victim's father, spoke to KCAL9 and CBS2 reporter Rachel Kim.

Kim spoke to Wilkins outside his daughter's home in the 23400 block of Moonshadows Drive. He said his daughter was home on Friday preparing for a get together with friends the following day.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

No cause of death was given. The death is still being investigated by the coroner's office.

Detectives suspect foul play as the victim's vehicle -- a 1998 silver BMW z3 with red interior --  is also missing.

Rob Wilkins told Kim, "This is just the worst day of my life. It's terrible. We're completely unprepared for this. This is the worst thing that could happen."

He also told Kim that his daughter was well-liked. "We have no idea who would do this. It's a mystery."
