Man Suffers Shot To Ear In Car-To-Car Shooting On 110 Freeway

TORRANCE (CBS) — A man was shot in the ear while driving on the northbound 110 Freeway in an apparent car-to-car shooting.

At about 2:30 p.m. Thursday, the driver had just dropped off his girlfriend at Los Angeles Harbor College. He got onto the Torrance Boulevard on-ramp to the freeway when he heard a loud bang. He pulled over and realized he had been shot, but was able to call 911.

SKY9 reported that the bullet left a hole in the driver's side window of the victim's black Honda Coupe.

The driver has told investigators that he has no idea why anyone would want to shoot him. Detectives said they will continue to talk to witnesses for leads.

All lanes were reopened at 5:46 p.m., ending a two-mile backup on the northbound side of the freeway, according to the CHP.

The victim has been taken to a hospital. CHP Officer Christian Cracraft said he was listed in stable condition.
