Ventura County Camp Counselor Accused Of Molesting 7-Year-Old Girl Under His Care

VENTURA (CBS) — Police say a 7-year-old Ventura girl was molested while under the supervision of a camp counselor at Pacific Camps in Ventura County.

Matthew Winton, 25, of Oxnard, was arrested Wednesday by Ventura police officers for allegedly molesting the girl while working as a counselor for Pacific Camps. Detectives say Winton has been an employee of Pacific Camps for seven years and has worked within several communities within Ventura County.

Pacific Camps is a non-profit agency that provides after-school day care and camps throughout the county.

Anyone with information about Winton or who believes their child have had contact with Winton was urged to call police.
