LOS ANGELES (CBS) — What would you do for a chance to attend a party at George Clooney's Los Angeles home for President Barack Obama?

Fundraising organizers are encouraging fans and presidential supporters alike to donate even $3 for a chance to attend the actor's upcoming event for the president. And in fact, supporters can bypass making a donation and enter for free.

Any donation made to the president's re-election fund gives the donor for a chance to attend the party with companion, with all expenses paid. And in fact, supporters can bypass making a donation and enter for free.

About 150 guests, including President Obama, are expected at the $40,000-a-plate event on May 10, which is cohosted by DreamWorks Animation CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg. Clooney reportedly hopes to raise $6 million at the event.

Clooney's political activism is well known. The actor, along with his father, was arrested while protesting at the Sudanese Embassy in Washington last month, two days after dining at the White House.

The actor has also been a longtime supporter of the president, attending previous fundraisers for Obama in the Los Angeles area.
