LOS FELIZ (CBS) — A mother duck and her ducklings are attempting to cross the 5 Freeway at Los Feliz Boulevard, according to the CHP.

The ducks have reportedly tried at least three attempts to cross the busy road.

CHP told City News Service that the ducks are on the center median trying to reach the western side of the five-lane freeway. It is believed the duck and her brood are trying to make it to Griffith Park.

KNX reported traffic has slowed in the area.

The ducks were first spotted trying to cross the road at 12:45 p.m.

CHP says the ducks also made crossing attempts at 3:15 and 3:37 p.m.

CHP reports to the CBS2/KCAL9 assignment desk that when they arrived on scene to effort a rescue of the ducks, the ducks had already fled the scene.
