Mother Of Tucson Shooting Victim To Attend Book-Signing At Dodger Stadium
LOS ANGELES (CBS) — The mother of slain 9-year-old Christina-Taylor Green is scheduled to sign copies of her new book on Monday at Dodger Stadium.
Roxanna Green co-authored "As Good As She Imagined," which shares the family's journey of faith and their quest for redemption following Christina-Taylor's death.
She was the youngest of six victims killed in the Jan. 8, 2011, shooting in Tucson, Ariz. that left then-Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-Ariz.) seriously injured.
The book's title stems from a statement President Obama made at a memorial service for the shooting victims, in which he said, "I want to live up to her expectations. I want our democracy to be as good as Christina imagined it."
The book signing is expected to take place in the right field merchandise tent from 5:10 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and during the first three innings of the LA Dodgers game against the Atlanta Braves.
The Green family has formed the Christina-Taylor Green Foundation which undertakes charitable and educational projects that reflect and embody her interests, values and dreams.
Christina-Taylor Green's father is a Dodger scout.
