YORBA LINDA (CBS) — Two firefighters were hurt Sunday evening battling an electrical fire in Yorba Linda.
Nearly 2,000 Southern California Edison customers also lost power after an electrical vault exploded. The underground vault is located at Fairmont and Yorba Linda Boulevard.
Officials on the scene said the cause of the explosion was under investigation.
The explosion was reported at 7:29 p.m. Witnesses said they heard two loud booms.
The two firefighters were reportedly looking down a manhole as a third explosion occurred sending them both ten feet into the air. Both firefighters were transported to Western Medical Center in Santa Ana with minor injuries.
Outage areas include Lakeview to the north, Silver Spur Lane to the east, Yorba Linda Boulevard to the south and Prospect Avenue to the west.
(UPDATE Sunday 10 p.m.) SCE says power has been fully restored to all affected by the outage.
