District officials sent a letter out on Friday informing parents of alleged misconduct by an unidentified substitute employee.

"The purpose of this letter is to inform you of an investigation involving alleged misconduct by a substitute school employee who has been
removed from campus pending the results of the investigation by the Long Beach Police Department," the letter from Principal Keri Lew read in part.

A sixth-grader named Christopher said he was the one to discover a hidden camera that had fallen on the floor.

"I grabbed it, and when I was grabbing it, my teacher snatched it out of my hand," Christopher said. "I asked him, 'What are you gonna do with it?', and he said, 'Don't worry about it'."

Christopher said someone then reported the camera to the main office.

The district confirmed that the substitute has been removed from the campus and "will not return until the investigation is complete and the allegations are determined to be unfounded".
