Kim Kardashian Announces Intention To Run For Mayor Of Glendale -- In 5 Years

GLENDALE (CBS) — Reality TV star Kim Kardashian says she's planning to run for mayor of Glendale.

In an unaired clip of her sister's reality show, "Khloe & Lamar," posted to YouTube, Kardashian says she plans to run for mayor in, like, five years.

"I decided I'm going to run for the mayor of Glendale," she tells her sister as they drive around Dallas, where Khloe's husband, Lamar Odom, played briefly for the Mavericks.

"So you have to, you know, have full residency of Glendale," Kardashian said. "So, for real, Noel's going to head my campaign. But its going to be like five years for Glendale. So I have to buy a house there."

Kardashian continues by saying she and Noel, whose identity is not made clear, are looking into the requirements for running for elected office in Glendale.

"Because its like Armenian town," Kardashian said.

According to Glendale's Community Development department, Armenians comprised of 27% of the population in 2000. Figures from the 2010 census were not yet available.

The city of Glendale does not have an elected mayor. Glendale's mayor is selected by nomination and majority vote by his/her city council colleagues every year.
