Off-Duty Firefighter Airlifted After Falling From Rocks Near Porter Ranch

PORTER RANCH (CBS) — An off-duty firefighter was hospitalized on Monday after falling from rocks in the Porter Ranch area.

A LAFD helicopter airlifted the victim from Stoney Point after he was reported fallen around 10:50 a.m., according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The victim — an adult male who works for the Burbank Fire Department — apparently fell about 30 to 40 feet in the park area near the Ronald Reagan (118) Freeway and Topanga Canyon Boulevard, officials said.

He was being transported to Holy Cross Medical Center in Mission Hills in serious condition.
