Police Seek Victims Of Disbarred La Mirada Lawyer

ALHAMBRA (CBS) — Police are looking for victims of a disbarred La Mirada lawyer accused of bilking clients.

Gerald Lionel Garcia-Barron was arrested Wednesday by Alhambra police working in conjunction with investigators from the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office. He is facing several felony charges of grant theft and practicing law without a valid license.

Investigators say Garcia-Barron lost his law license in 2011, but continued to represent himself as an attorney. They allege Garcia-Barron would solicit clients and accept money from them as a retainer.

"Mr. Garcia-Barron is known to meet potential clients at coffee houses in and around the Alhambra area," Sgt. Jerry Johnson said.

Garcia-Barron is also known to use the alias of Gerry L. Garcia.
