SAN ANTONIO (AP) — Kobe Bryant is out for a third consecutive game because of a sore left shin, and Lakers coach Mike Brown says there is still no timetable for his return.
Brown said before Wednesday night’s game at San Antonio that the NBA’s scoring leader isn’t nagging him to play. Brown said Bryant wants to be cautious and not exacerbate the injury.
Bryant, who is averaging 28.1 points, had started 138 consecutive games before missing Saturday’s loss at Phoenix. The Lakers then barely squeaked past lowly New Orleans on Monday without their superstar.
Devin Ebanks was slated to start again in place of Bryant against the Spurs.
The Lakers’ next game is Friday against Denver.
