Help Sought To Find Men Behind Attempted Kidnapping In Fullerton

FULLERTON (CBS) — Two men are wanted for trying to kidnap a 19-year-old woman in broad daylight.

Police say the woman was walking in the north alley of 100 W. Valencia Drive Friday at about noon when a small black car drove into the alley and parked behind her.

The woman was grabbed from behind and dragged toward the car by the passenger, police said, while a second man stayed in the driver's seat of the car.

Detectives told CBS2/KCAL9's Dave Lopez that the woman started screaming when she was grabbed, she started screaming and saw two men she didn't know run toward her. She was able to break free, and the man trying to drag her into the car got back in.

Both suspects fled in the car, which was last seen driving westbound through the alley.

Detectives would like to speak to the good Samaritans to get more information about the incident.

Cecilia Hurst, who lives in the area where the attempted kidnapping happened, says she always tells people not to walk alone in the area.

"We have a lot of kids that come in and out who ride their bikes through here, its really safe," Hurst said. "But to hear this, its getting kinda edgy on it."

The suspects were described as male Hispanics, and the man who grabbed the woman was described as being in his 20s.

Anyone with information about the incident can call Fullerton police Detective Magliano at (714) 738-6753.
