Fire officials say when they arrived, the tanker was fully engulfed and burning the concrete underneath the 5 Freeway.

The fire also spread to nearby brush but fire officials were able to knock down the blazes in just over an hour.

As of 7 a.m. Sunday, the eastbound side of the highway was reopened, while the westbound lanes at Pacific near the Interstate 5 remained closed.

CHP officials initially told CBS2's Mike Dinow that they expected the freeway to be fully operational by about noon. However, officials have since said that the freeway could open around 6 p.m.

That tanker was carrying 8,600 gallons of gas at the time of the crash. It was headed to Hollywood from Colton

The driver of the Honda, identified by authorities as 25-year-old Hakop Maghakyan of Glendale, has been booked on suspicion of DUI.

(UPDATE: Sunday 9:15 p.m.) The California Department of Transporation (Caltrans) opened the westbound SR-134 to the southbound I-5 connector at 7:30 p.m. The structural integrity of the bridge was deemed safe by Caltrans engineers. The through lanes on SR-134 are expected to open between 8 p.m. and 9 p.m. tonight.

(UPDATE: Sunday 10:20 p.m.) The CHP says all lanes of the 134 are now open.
