SANTA ANA (CBS) — A teacher at a private high school in Irvine was arrested Thursday night for allegedly sending sexually explicit photos and text messages to a female student at the school.
Dominic Witter, 25, was taken into custody when he arrived at a pizza restaurant in Laguna Hills expecting to meet the underage student. He was instead confronted by investigators from the Orange County Sheriff’s Department, the Irvine Police Department, the O.C. Child Exploitation Task Force and the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
The suspect allegedly sent the girl nude photos of himself and asked her to send back some of her own, according to an ICE report.
“We entrust teachers to serve as role models for our children and safeguard their welfare. When that trust is violated, there will be zero tolerance,” said Claude Arnold, special agent in charge for HSI Los Angeles. “Those who exploit their access to young people to gratify their own perverse sexual desires are on notice that there will be serious consequences for those actions.”
The Laguna Niguel resident teaches English and also serves as a coach for the girls track and boys soccer teams at Crean Lutheran High School.
