SILVER LAKE (CBS) — A woman fatally struck by a vehicle in the Silver Lake area, police said Saturday.

The accident 2800 block of Rowena Avenue between Silver Lake Boulevard and Lakewood occurred about 10:25 p.m. Friday.

Sky2’s Stu Mundel, reporting overhead, said the car that struck the woman did stop a couple hundred feet away and officers questioned the driver.

Paramedics took the woman to a hospital, but she could not be saved, said Los Angeles police Officer Greg Hoyte of the Central Traffic Division. Her name has been withheld.

Los Angeles police with the Central Traffic Division are handling the investigation.
