Armed Robber Targets Baskin Robbins Ice Cream Store In Costa Mesa

COSTA MESA (CBS) — Costa Mesa Police are looking for a suspect who robbed a Baskin Robbins Ice Cream store Tuesday night.

Authorities responded to a reported armed robbery on Harbor Boulevard, just north of 19th Street.

Police said an employee working in the back of the store heard a male suspect calling from the front for service. When the employee greeted him, the suspect unzipped the dark hooded sweatshirt he was wearing and pointed to a handgun that was visible in the waistband of his pants.

The suspect demanded cash and told the employee he was not afraid to use the gun, according to police. After the employee handed over the cash in the register, the suspect quickly fled the scene.

The suspect was described as a white male, approximately 20-30 years old, wearing a dark zipper front hooded sweatshirt, dark pants and possibly a blue beanie or cap.

Anyone with information regarding the robbery was urged to contact the Costa Mesa Police Department.
