Spring Cleaning Tips From HGTV's Kelly Edwards

STUDIO CITY (CBS) — Spring cleaning time is here!

Kelly Edwards visited the KCAL9 studios Monday to give viewers tips on spring cleaning. Kelly is the co-host and design coordinator for HGTV's "Design on a Dime" as well as STYLE Network's "Tacky House". In addition to being seen weekly on television, Kelly can also be seen as the segment host and home decorating expert for Shelter Pop where she offers online visitors her trade secrets and unique approach to design.

If time is limited, here is what Kelly suggests:

5 Minutes
-Speedily walk through every room in the house with a garbage bag and throw away trash
-Grab any laundry on the floors and place it in the bin by your washer
-While your coffee brews, give the toilet a quick scrub or do a kitchen counter wipe down

15 minutes
-Set a timer for yourself and challenge yourself to get as much vacuuming done at once as you can. -Clean your purses, bags or one drawer in your kitchen and organize your important documents -Organize recipes, takeout menus etc in a binder

30 minutes
-Start a load of laundry while you start dinner.
-Organize your closets and cleaning tools for your next big clean
-Create a carryall or apron stocked with cleaning supplies to save you back and forth trips for supplies
