GM Recalls More Than 6K Vehicles Due To Potential Steering Problems

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — General Motors is recalling more than 6,000 vans and SUVs due to potential steering problems.

The recalled vehicles include certain versions of the 2012 Chevy Express and GMC Savana vans. The SUVs being recalled are the 2012 Chevy Suburban and the GMC Yukon XL.

GM says new tests revealed gear shafts on the vehicles can break, which could cause a loss of steering.

No crashes or injuries have been reported.

Dealers across the Southland are offering to inspect and replace the affected vehicles' gear shafts.
