Pedestrian Killed When Struck By Car And Motorcycle On 110 Freeway

LOS ANGELES (CBS) —  A pedestrian was killed Sunday after being struck by a car, then by a motorcycle, on the Harbor (110) Freeway in South Los Angeles.

The crash on the northbound freeway, just north of Rosecrans Avenue, was reported to the California Highway Patrol at 5:10 a.m., according to a department statement.

A 26-year-old Westminster woman was driving a green Honda Element when she saw what she described as "a shadow only feet" in front of her vehicle.

The woman said as her headlights illuminated the pedestrian, she swerved to the left but did not avoid striking the victim.

The impact caused the pedestrian to land in front of an approaching 2008 Suzuki motorcycle, which also struck him. He was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.

The victim's identity was not immediately available.
