LONG BEACH (CBS) — A 38-year-old man was fatally shot in a Long Beach motel room, a spokeswoman said Saturday.
The shooting occurred in the 1000 block of East Seventh Street at 8:20 p.m. Friday, Long Beach police spokeswoman Nancy Pratt said. At least one person was arrested as a suspect.
The deceased, a Long Beach resident, was found shot in the upper torso, Pratt said. He was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead shortly after his arrival.
Investigators believe several people were inside a motel room when a confrontation took place and the shooting followed, Pratt said.
“Detectives are continuing their investigation to determine the circumstances and motive,” Pratt said.
Police urged anyone with information regarding the fatal shooting to contact Long Beach homicide detectives Terri Hubert and Mark Bigel at (562) 570- 7244.
