LYTLE CREEK (CBS) — Copper thieves in the Lytle Creek area have left residents and businesses in the area without phone service.

Verizon reports that a copper theft in Lytle Creek has cut off service to customers along Cajon Boulevard near Palm.

The Devore Animal Shelter is one business that reports no service. An unknown number of residents are also being affected.

There is no word on when service will be fully restored but Verizon said it should be in the next 6-7 hours.

Verizon said they’re seeing an increase in copper thefts and attempted thefts in this specific area of the San Gabriel Valley.
