The San Fernando Valley is the perfect place to raise a family. Good schools, nice neighborhoods and an abundance of playgrounds for kids of all ages. We’ve climbed to the top of the jungle gym to find the best indoor and outdoor playgrounds in the San Fernando Valley.

The children’s play area at Dearborn Park is new and features the latest in equipment, including a state of the art jungle gym. There’s also lighted, outdoor basketball and tennis courts, so kids of all ages can enjoy the park’s amenities. Additionally, the park is stocked with plenty of picnic ares perfect for sharing a snack or hosting a birthday party.

Besides many different grassy areas and beautiful cherry trees, there’s a huge children’s playground, tennis courts and an indoor basketball court at The Sepulveda Basin Recreational Area. Across the street, the park features a golf course next to Lake Balboa where you can fish or rent a pedal boat. In the remote control area, families can spend hours flying their own plane or watching the regulars. There’s even a wilderness preserve to meander through filled with all sorts of wildlife from white egrets to bunnies.
